HELLO ALL!
OK, so here's this lovely thing...
1. How long have you been on DeviantART? Since May of 2004. Damn, it's been a journey so far...
2. What does your username mean? The-Necromancer? Pretty self explanatory, don't you think? Not that We literally bring things back from the dead. That's part of what the art is for.
3. Describe yourself in three words. GREAT AND POWERFUL!!!
4. Are you left or right handed? Right handed, although We use Our left hand when playing music, carrying things, etc...
5. What was your first deviation? Good lord...
6. What is your favorite type of art to create? While We have experimented with Digital Art an awful lot, nothing beats good old fashioned Traditional methods. As far as subject matter, airships are always nice...
7. If you could instantly master a different type of art style, what would it be? Water color painting. Damn is that hard...
8. What was your first favorite? Something naturalist.
9. What type of art to you tend to favourite the most? WE DO NOT HAVE THE DATA ON THAT...
10. Who is your all-time favourite deviant artist? THE FANTASTICAL alexiuss
11. If you could meet anyone on DeviantART in person, who would it be? No comment.
12. How has a fellow deviant impacted your life? Several have been great conversationalists, giving time and advice to Us via notes. Those include, but are not limited to: PaxAeternum slowdog294 renegadeofpeace and the much missed radioPooh
13. What are your preferred tools to create art? Besides the digital medium that is Photoshop 8, which is not always very satisfactory, The-Necromancer works mostly with pens, pencils and crazy-wild imagination!!!
14. What is the most inspirational place for you to create art? Diners and restaurants have always been a good place to sit and draw. Partially for the fact that some people one meets can be inspiring, but also because sitting amongst a group of people going about their day offers one the opportunity to melt into the day, sit back, and just be.
15. What is your favourite DeviantART memory? The often interesting, sometimes frustrating, and always entertaining battles had on the Politics forum with Poopgoblyn. A most worthy adversary indeed.
THAT IS ALL.

Let's Talk About The Current Situation...
Hello all, I know a lot of people are concerned, scared, and certainly angry right now. Personally, my heart breaks for the people of Ukraine. My heart breaks almost as much for the people of Russia. Neither asked for Putin's war, but it's what they and the rest of the world have gotten. I am a Communist. I understand the long history between Ukraine and Russia, I have strong opinions about both nations governments. Mostly negative. I have opinions on NATO expansion, the necessity of that organization, and I can to an extent understand Moscow's feelings of mistrust and betrayal by the West in the post-Soviet world. I can also understand, if it is genuine, why those in Ukraine's east would wish to break away. While I do not believe the outrageous arguments put out by the Kremlin as justification for Putin's war, Luhansk and Donetsk have no less valid a claim to go their own way than Ukraine itself in 1991. I am, however, dubious of what percentage of that eastern populace truly
So Let's Be Real...
Hello most toasty minions. Honesty time. I know I don't post as much as some of you would like. I know I don't always put that much effort into what I do post. Trust me, you'd be being polite if you didn't notice. I'm sure some of you do. Why is this, one may ask. It's apathy. I suffer from periods of apathy. Knowing I should care about being creative, knowing I have ideas, knowing that other people out there manage to post artwork regularly. Know ALL of that. And yet, finding myself with zero motivation. Not merely zero motivation, but caring very little that I lack any. It's not just in my creative life, although given that this space is about that, it's what I'm choosing to go on about. I spend far too much of my time finding ways to distract myself from the fact that I generally don't like people, yet with very little interest in channeling that to some creative purpose. Instead, I deep dive into naval history or watching let's plays or pretend at understanding half of the
Protest and the Nature Of.
Many thoughts running through my mind. This past week has been something, and an all too ugly something. All across the nation, people are demonstrating yet again how fed up they are. Whether it was Selma, Alabama in 1965 or Los Angeles, California in 1992, or Ferguson, Missouri in 2014, or Minneapolis, Minnesota in 2020. What started out as a peaceful protest of solidarity in the heart of Madison, Wisconsin yesterday turned to spurts of violence as the night went on. Which, given that city's fine history of protest, is not surprising. Nor is it surprising, given the issues at hand. These are not new issues, this isn't the first time even this month that we've been confronted with these issues as a society. Amidst the pandemic, ours is a country that still manages to continue it's less honorable traditions. Racial injustice and police brutality in and of themselves do not make sense, nor are they legitimate acts. Thus, some of the people themselves take up acts deemed illegitimate. I
Musical Follow-Up
Some further thought on my musical journey: Over the past couple years, one thing that has given me some inspiration from time to time is the Synthwave genre. Most of my neon lit cityscapes were cooked up while listening to such music, for example. While I'm in no way connected to them, I'd like to give a shout-out to the good people at Nightride FM. Their station has got me through, not just creatively, but emotionally at times. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p-Jdm0H-A9k&feature=share&fbclid=IwAR37vTDfDD54soQnVAFR3-dGrXRBjI0EzdldP2G01bV8SSWqbzM4mpEnRnY While I am not always in the mood for such independent, creative, and dynamic music, Nightride and it's live shows always entertain me. Hell, seeing live performances streamed to me during the Virus Times has been uplifting in it's own way.
